Cardcaptor Sakura

An anime of the 90s is coming back to the small screen this 2018! Cardcaptor Sakura

Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine revealed that CLAMP’s 1998 “Cardcaptor Sakura” will be having its new television series. An adaptation of the anime’s Clear Card-hen (Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc) will premiere on NHK in January 2018. It will be worked on by the original 1998 series director, Morio Asaka (Galaxy Angel, Gunslinger Girl, Last Order: Final Fantasy VII, etc.) of studio Madhouse.

The series will also feature the return of its old cast including:

  • Sakura Kinimoto
  • Keroberos
  • Tomoyo Daidōji
  • Syaoran Li
  • Yukito Tsukishiro
  • Tōya Kinomoto

The story follows the end of the first series, Sakura starts junior high school together with her friends. After having a dream with a mysterious cloaked figure, Sakura’s Clow Cards became powerless. She now sets on a quest to find out what is wrong, discovering new transparent cards and capturing it using a new key.
